The FabShop Hop Bunny will guide you from site to site to hop and shop, and when you get there, find another bunny hidden somewhere on the site. Click on the bunny, sign in to show you’ve been there and continue on your journey.

then click on “July List of Shops” on the left menu. On that page, you will find a list of all the shops participating in the FabShopHop. At each site you visit, look around and find the fuchsia bunny that says ‘youfoundit’ with July dates — click on the bunny, and a prize registration page will come up –
fill in your email address and click on the “register for prizes” button.

This sends a message to our database that you registered for prizes at that site. You will receive a Thank You message and an email confirmation that you have registered at that site. You can then continue shopping at that site or go back to the home page for that site and continue on the Hop.

Happy Mother’s Day!

Happy Mother’s Day!  Here’s to all the mothers out there - a special discount for you.  Type in HMDPromo during checkout for a 20% discount!  To all of you who are not mothers, you can use it too!  This discount is available until May 24th.

I’ve been working with Rochelle Martin of Cottage Quilt Designs to make some of her patterns using my traditional batik designs.  I’ve attached a picture of our first effort as it is being made.  Check back to see the quilt as it progresses.  Let me know what you think at batiksbydesign@gmail.com.

Timeless Treasures Bali batiks have been added to the site – finally!  The next thing I need to do is let you know what traditional designs work with which Bali fabrics and vice versa.  Of course not all of the Bali fabrics were bought to coordinate with my other fabrics and just because I like it with a fabric doesn’t mean you won’t like it with something else.  They are just meant to be suggestions!

If you would like to see a fabric you like in person, email me and I’ll send you a swatch.  As much as we try to get our colors right on the computer, all screens are different and the colors won’t be exact.  We’ll be glad to send you a swatch so that you’ll be completely happy with your purchase.

Hello world!

Welcome to Batiks by Design!  We are the home of traditional batik fabrics from Indonesia.  Come on over and take a look.  In the latest issue of Quilter’s Newsletter, there was an article on using ethnic fabrics in quilts.  Here’s a place for you to start looking for some of these exciting fabrics to add to your stash.  We offer a large number of traditional designs on 100% cotton fabrics that we import directly from the markets in Indonesia.  Our patterns change a lot due to the ebb and flow of the markets, so keep checking back to see what is new.  We have a shipment on it’s way that is due to arrive at the end of May.  We’ve stocked up on a lot of blue fabrics since these seem to be the favorites so far AND a new quilt design is coming out soon using our blue batiks!  We wanted to be ready!!!  We would love to hear from y’all, so please add your comments to our blog.  I’ll be adding things on a semi-regular basis to let you know what is new in our world.  –Patti
